2017 Chevrolet Rockin’ on the Riverfront Summer Concert Series

Are you ready to rock? Chevrolet Rockin’ on the Riverfront, the annual FREE concert series (no tickets necessary), will return for its 12th season at the Detroit Riverfront this summer, welcoming crowds every Friday night for classic rock and roll in Detroit.

The concert series is set to amaze audiences of all ages with shows running from 7:30-10 p.m. on Friday nights. Rockin' on the Riverfront takes place on the GM Plaza, directly behind the GMRENCEN - located along Detroit's beautiful RiverWalk. Convenient parking is available for $5 per vehicle (after 5:00 p.m.) in the GM surface lot at the intersection of St. Antoine and Atwater, adjacent to the GMRENCEN. Only credit cards will be accepted.

The Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center is the official hotel of the 2017 Chevrolet Rockin’ on the Riverfront Concert Series. Enjoy the encore and don’t worry about the drive home by booking a night’s stay.

This Year’s Rockin’ Lineup Includes:
Night Ranger will take you on a trip down Sentimental Street when they come to Detroit to rock out on the riverfront this summer.

With notable contributions to popular culture, Night Ranger has entertained fans since the 1980s with hits like “Sister Christian,” “Don’t Tell Me You Love Me” and “(You Can Still) Rock in America.” The band released a new album in March titled Don’t Let Up.

George Thorogood and The Destroyers are Bad to the Bone and their music will make you Move It On Over to Detroit to see them rock the night away.

George Thorogood has rocked generations for more than 30 years with hits like “Who Do You Love” and “I Drink Alone.”

LOVERBOY will be Working for the Weekend just for you when they come to the D.

With their trademark red leather pants, bandannas, big rock sound and high-energy live shows, LOVERBOY has captivated fans for years with songs like, “When It’s Over” and “Turn Me Loose.”

Gin Blossoms won’t be Goin’ to California this weekend because they’ll be spending it in the Motor City.

A fusion of pop, rock, folk and country elements make Gin Blossoms a musical force that helped define the era of 90s rock. Gin Blossoms formed in the late 80s and shot to the top of the charts in 1992 with “New Miserable Experience,” an album that had multiple hits including “Hey Jealously” and “Until I Fall Away.”

38 Special will have you Rockin’ Into the Night this summer when they take the Chevrolet Rockin’ on the Riverfront stage.

Known for their Southern Rock sound, 38 Special brings their signature brand of ‘muscle and melody’ to fans across the globe. After more than three decades, 38 Special continues to rock crowds with hits like “Hold On Loosely” and “Rockin’ Into the Night.”

Everclear stands to be a Wonderful closing act for this summer’s concert series.

Formed in 1991, Everclear has enjoyed a long career entertaining fans with their trademark combination of melody, rhythmic energy, evocative lyrics and thundering guitar crutch. Ten albums later, songs like “Santa Monica” and “Father of Mine” still resonate with fans.
