Collaborative workspaces, 16 new media screens and a sleek new design are just a few of the upgrades to the GMRENCEN’s new CAFE. Previously known as the Food Court, the CAFE is an entirely new indoor eatery with areas for people to relax, collaborate and socialize while indulging in their favorite eats.
Following the recent opening of GM World in 2018, the 28,631 square foot CAFE is an extension of the modern look and feel of the vehicle display space. The entire renovation project took less than 10 months to complete and is the first major upgrade to the Food Court space since General Motors purchased the building in 1996.
The GMRENCEN CAFE is the place to catch up on the latest headlines, GM news and to cheer on your favorite sports teams on one of 16 TVs. It’s a place to dine with quick menu options, meet with friends or co-workers and enjoy a meal or snack over great conversation or while collaborating on projects.
The indoor eatery features multiple restaurants inside the GMRENCEN with fast and easy dining options for people. Upon entry, there are comfy lounge seats leading toward a variety of dining choices ranging from soups and sandwiches to pizza and gyros.
CAFE Highlights:
- 28,631 square feet of dining space nearly half the size of a football field
- 16 TVs with a variety of viewing options
- More than 700 available seats and views of GM World
- Collaborative workspaces with WIFI and charging stations
- Renovated bathrooms
The CAFE includes a dozen restaurants which are: Andiamo Pizza Pie, Burger King, Chop Fresh Salad, Coney Town, Fish City, Gyroland, Sweet Lorraine’s Mac n’ Cheez!, McDonald’s, Rice Bowl Express, Salsarita’s Fresh Mexican Grill, Subway and Zoup!
In recent years, Detroit’s tallest building has added dynamic food options including Granite City Food & Brewery, Panera Bread and Applebee’s & IHOP to cater to a variety of dining needs. In addition, the GMRENCEN is launching a multi-concept dining and social hub atop the 70 story Marriott hotel from Detroit-based, James Beard Award-winning Chef, Shawn McClain later this year.
