The GMRENCEN is composed of six towers totaling 2,353,005 SF of office space, with onsite 24-hour security. Additionally, the 750,000 SF Coleman A Young Municipal Center is connected to the complex via a covered pedestrian skywalk.
Since the first phase of the GMRENCEN opened on July 1, 1976, the building has evolved into a group of interconnected skyscrapers. The central tower, the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center, is the tallest all-hotel skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere, and the four surrounding office towers each have 39 floors.

The GMRENCEN has a total of 52 passenger and freight elevators. Each tower is equipped with one freight elevator that services all floors, and 12 passenger elevators (6 elevators for floors 5 - 21 and 6 for floors 22 - 39).
You should always feel safe at the GMRENCEN, on-site security is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Office tenants are issued identification badges so employees can easily move around the building and access their work spaces.
No matter if you prefer views of the city or the river, this building can deliver. As the tallest building in Michigan and being built on the shore of the Detroit River, the GMRENCEN can provide views you won’t find many other places.
Tenants and visitors can easily access the building from major freeways and the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel is literally next door.
